COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

Dear Clients,

I have missed you all! After receiving Governor Abbott’s OK for massage establishments to reopen, I think I am ready to come back as a better Rolfer/person/being!

I’d love to show you everything I have learned through webinars during my quarantine! So, as an ongoing special service, I will be continuing to offer virtual self-care and structural integration movement sessions here. For those of you who are ready to receive or want to schedule now for hands on work, beginning May 31st, I will reopen to normal capacity. You can schedule your appointment here

Even though there is no known way to completely eliminate the risk of transmission and infection, you can rest assured that my cleaning/sanitizing protocols have always been, and will continue to be, rigorous and thorough. 

Some of the ways I will protect you and myself are as follows:

  • I will wear a face mask upon entering the office to make sure I do my part in not spreading the virus. (Including safety protocols before and after touching the mask)


  • Sanitizing/disinfecting all equipment between sessions, including changing out to all clean sheets, pillowcases, towels, blankets, etc. that have been previously washed and covering table equipment with non-porous vinyl that can be sanitized/disinfected prior to each client use.


  • Sanitizing/disinfecting all floors, door knobs, buttons and switches, locks, faucet handles, toilet parts, tables, phones, credit card readers, massage tools, light switches, hangers, glasses, waiting areas inside, in addition to all the surfaces you and I may come into contact with before and after each session.


  • Hand washing with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) between every client, just prior to entering the treatment room before starting each session.


  • Using separate and individual lotion/salve/cream quantities for each client, unless in a squeezable tube.


  • Utilizing virus and bacteria killing HEPA air filter/s, as well as opening windows or doors during sessions to help with good air ventilation.


  • If they cannot be covered and disinfected properly, I will remove contagion collecting, porous fabrics including area rugs and upholstered furniture, or refrain from their use, for the time being.


  • I will store all dirty linens in a non-porous zipped laundry bag that can also be disinfected during laundry days.


  • I probably should continue to work in my shoes for better support, but will disinfect them upon entering the office. 


  • If my clothing might come in contact with you, I will wear a long vinyl apron that can be disinfected after each client.


  • Collaboration of these health and safety practices with all my co-workers/tenants who may be working at my office during this time.


What you can do prior to your appointment:

  • First and foremost, I require all clients to wear their own face coverings during their session, practice frequent hand washing and/or hand sanitizing and practice safe-social distancing.


  • Please shower and dress in clean clothes just before you arrive to your appointment. Avoid stopping at other stores or venues before arriving.


  • Consider taking your temperature before going out. I have finally located a thermometer and I will now be doing this daily. (FYI, fever is not considered medically relevant unless it is above 100.4 F (38 C).


  • Consider wearing easily removable shoes. I might suggest you disinfect your shoes or remove them upon entering the office.


  • Please avoid bringing anyone with you to your appointment, such as young children.


  • Especially during this stressful time, please take extra immune system enhancing precautions, such as getting enough rest, water, exercise and good nutrition, as well as any additional immune enhancing herbs and supplements that you feel you may need.


  • Clients who are 65 years and older, and those with conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, and suppressed immune systems, please be aware of your risks and be especially cautious of your health during this time. 


  • AND MOST IMPORTANTLY IF YOU OR YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS within the last 14 days have exhibited fever, fatigue, dry cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, sore throat, new muscle pain, new loss of taste or smell, headache, confusion, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, bruising, redness, swelling or cramping in the lower legs and feet, red or purple toes, or within the last 30 days have been diagnosed with or been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, traveled outside of the country, or to any city outside of our own that is or has been considered a “hot spot” for COVID-19, please stay home and please respect others by giving me 24 hours notice of your cancellation. An online release form will be emailed to you 2 days prior to your appointment having you confirm any symptoms or exposure of COVID-19. 


I know the list is long but your health is extremely important to me! I am here to work with you in whatever way I can to make your Rolfing session healthy and safe, as I know our session together will be beneficial.
